Citroen Berlingo Information
This used wheelchair accessible vehicle for sale is a Citroen Berlingo Multispace (2017/67) with the 1.6 HDi (diesel) engine and is automatic with paddle shift. It has had two owners from new and was a former Motability Scheme vehicle so it has been well maintained. It has covered ONLY 11,800 miles (this is approx 1,300 miles per year) and has service history. It is finished in metallic silver. The Berlingo has long been a popular choice for wheelchair users because it’s compact, easy to drive and easy to park, without giving up space inside. It is also a Euro 6 vehicle too.
So this Berlingo was converted by Automotive Group Conversions. They have the lowered the rear floor, we have a manual tailgate and wheelchair ramp (constructed from lightweight aluminium). This bi-fold ramp means the angle from the floor to the inside of the vehicle is at a low angle and the winch is super helpful to help pull the wheelchair inside the vehicle. We have manual wheelchair securing straps consisting of front belts and rear manual belts and there is a 3-point safety seatbelt also. As mentioned before we have a winch installed as well.  It’s a five-seater as standard, so it works as an everyday family car. When you need to carry a wheelchair or mobility scooter, simply fold the two rear seats over. That leaves three seats (two front, one rear) plus generous space for the chair or scooter.
Other specifications to this wheelchair vehicle includes electric front windows and electric mirrors. We have a CD/Radio with Bluetooth. There are driver and passenger airbags and power steering as standard. The steering wheel can be fully adjusted to suit your driving position. There is cruise control and also air conditioning (a useful tool whatever the weather). There are two keys and remote central locking. Rear parking sensors are also installed on this vehicle.
Wheelchair Securing System & Wheelchair Conversion Information
This wheelchair vehicle has a lowered floor, so a wheelchair or mobility scooter user can travel comfortably and with good headroom. It has been converted by Automotive Group Conversions. Access is through a manually operated ramp that is a bi-fold ramp constructed of lightweight aluminium. Each ramp has its own weight limit, so please check the vehicle layout diagram on this vehicles images or contact us for clarification. There are then five seats (so the Berlingo can be used a ‘normal’ five seat vehicle) so when a wheelchair or mobility scooter is in situ simply fold over the two rear seats (so it becomes three seats plus wheelchair (see measurements below or view the vehicle layout diagram).
Once inside, the wheelchair or scooter is secured with a four-point tie-down system:
Each belt attaches to the correct securing points on the wheelchair or scooter. Using the manufacturer’s designated points matters for safety, and we’re happy to show you how to fit the belts properly at handover.  The wheelchair occupant should also wear the vehicle’s seat belt (lap and diagonal) as well as the tie-downs. The tie-downs hold the chair, and the seat belt restrains the person.
